The Canadian Railway for Teachers!
Closely linked to the «Railway Witnesses: Memory of a Nation » traveling exhibition, the «Rail History » website is a valuable tool for teachers whose students are between the ages of 9 to 13. Its content was designed to help teachers convey basic railway concepts to their students. The site provides an overview of important times in Canadian railway history through six themes. The themes presented are: Important Figures, the Road to Confederation, Great Canadian Engineering Feats, Immigration, Traveling Schools as well as Major Railway Companies. Various teaching activities supplement the information provided.
This project has been sponsored with the financial support of the department of Canadian Heritage, of the ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine du Québec, Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec, MRC de Roussillon and the Railway Association of Canada.
