Demonstrations
John Molson steam locomotive
The steam locomotive demonstration will be offer on Saturdays: May 28, June 11 and 25, July 9, August 13 and 27, September 10 and 24, and October 8, 2022.
Replica of a 1848 steam locomotive, the John Molson is fired up on the site on selected days. However, the locomotive is not available for public rides.
When the locomotive is not in operation, visitors can admire it in Building 5, the rolling stock open reserve between May, 20 to October, 30, 2022.
The demonstration schedule may be modified or cancelled at any time without prior notice. Demonstrations can be cancelled if the outside temperature reaches 30o Celsius or more.
Turntable
The demonstration of how a turntable operates enables the public to witness the power of human ingenuity using a pivot under the platform. The turntable operated at the De Lorimier shops in Montreal and in St. Lin in the Laurentians. It was recuperated by Exporail and is now used to move vehicles toward the shop or other railway tracks.
Demonstrations are planned on weekend from June 25 until October 10, 2022. Check the schedule board.
